Wait, That's Not My Head!

I finally came across the footage for an online commercial I was supposed to be in for Ring Virtual Security Guard. I filmed this spot almost two years ago and stumbled upon it a few days ago. Every six months or so, I’ll go on a treasure hunt to search for footage production hasn’t shared with me.

Welp, ending up on the cutting room floor is an unfortunate part of this business. I know it, I accept it, my thick skin mostly protects me from it. But I am human, so I’m told, and I still feel like poo when it happens. And I am still not sure which is worse; being physically cut or my lines cut. Though I guess being cut completely would be the absolute worst.

It caught me off guard for a moment to hear my voice attached to someone else's head. But I know my voice! My voice, my lines, not the back of my head. I’m a curly haired blonde. I haven't had black hair since before I could legally buy a drink. Funny thing is, this was one of my first speaking roles and I was sooooo nervous. I totally flubbed my lines the first take. My line started with ‘Specifically’, and I believe I said ‘Pacifically’. I was absolutely convinced I’d end up in B-roll or dubbed. Turns out, my line delivery was okay after my first take. Eh, I am paid my rate regardless of how much I end up in the final cut. So without further ado, five seconds of my lovely voice! Ha!
